Just posting an update about all the beer developments in Hobart lately, or at least the ones I can remember.

Last Rites and Double Head have both opened in Cambridge (near Hobart airport). Both do cellar door sales / food truck stuff.

Spotty Dog contract brew using Last Rites facility and have put out two beers now.

The Winston pub have their own brewing facility up and running (they got caught up in the fiasco with core brewing last year). The usually have one or two of their own on tap at the pub. They would tap more but it runs out so damn quick they cant keep up!

Shambles brewpub has opened on Elizabeth street and the place is seriously nice! Big open space which houses the brewery in the back has plenty of seating - kind of an indoor beer garden. Beer is spot on to style. They've started with four and will ramp up to 12. Their official launch is next week...

..Followed closely by Hobart Brewing Co which launch a week later. They've had two beers (amber and rye porter) contract brewed at Moo Brew for just over 12 months. Looking forward to checking them out.

Captain Blighs (almost feels like they've been around for ages by comparison) about 150m from Shambles. Opened just over a year ago doing colonial style ales - lots of Hobart centric historic stuff, Steve can tell a great story. Also do an open night once a month which brings in a really good crowd.

T-Bone brewing is also setting up shop in Hobart. Their gear was delivered recently so will be some months before they open.

Bruny Island Brewing - operating as an offshoot(?) of Bruny Island Cheese. Just released a Farm house ale last week.

Hop Trial brewing - Owen, previously of Moo Brew now working at HPA has set up a brewing company to showcase character hops by making some single hop beers (brewed at Moo). They've got an Ella pale out now.

So thats just the new stuff to go along with all the already established brewers. Did I miss anything?
Amazing that I can walk from my place in New Town (just north of North Hobart) to the waterfront and walk past 10+ breweries or craft focused pubs!! So come by for a visit.

Other than Hop Trial, I would think only Last Rites or Capt Blighs would possibly be sending to the mainland. I really couldnt say for sure. Lots of the more well established guys are found pretty regularly in other states but these guys are only just starting out so may take a while to build up enough to get around.

One other Ill mention is Kick Snare who are in Launceston but still new and worthy of looking out for - really good IPA and brown ale.
