I was poking around my local store on Sunday really wanting to crack my OEC Myers Lemon release. I asked the beer dept. manager to point out a nice sour fruit beer. bubbly and fruity and sour. He rolled his eyes and said we dont have Cantillon. Lmao. What we did come up with is Hof Ten Dormaal's Kriek- right off the shelf. belgian sour cherry fruit beer. What a great surprise. medium amount of tartness. wonderfull cherry flavor that doesn't overwhelm. moderate effervescense. really good. $10 a 11,3 oz bottle in CT. just what I wanted.
Just picked up this at Kays wine and Spirits yesterday if anybody in Hartford County is looking for this. Agree with OP- absolutely fantastic cherry sour.. Really enjoyable, nice bit of funk inside as well, quite refreshing.. Glad I picked it up..
Drank this at their farmstead in Hacht, Belgium a month ago. I'm now a fan of several of their beers. Nice beers, gorgeous farm, hard working family!
