Has anybody in maryland, virginia. or dc area found this yet? There beer finder isnt working and i have no idea who distributes hofbrau in maryland.
Pretty sure the distributor is Legends. Not seen the maibock (yet) but maybe because I haven't been specifically looking for it. Have found other Hofbrau products, like the pils, at Total Wine, Perfect Pour, State Line to name a few.
i think you may be getting hofbrau confused with another German brewery hofbrau doesn’t have a pils in the USA. I checked legends website hofbrau is not listed.
I know I’m not around you but this beer usually isn’t out yet and if you were to see it I would guess it’s old.
There german website list it as available mid feb to late april. I keep seeing it pop up on untapped seems like its available on draft first. I found some at a liquor store two weeks ago it was indeed last years batch.
I don’t know if it said available in the US on those dates but I would normally give German imports a good 4-6 week time adjustment. I usually pick up a 6 of this every year and it usually coincides with May 1.
how is it? I never had there maibock but there winter spezial was the the first and best dopplebock I ever had I bought a 5 liter mini keg and multiple six packs now that is gone i'm eagerly waiting for maibock.
I didn’t actually see it last year but I love it. Sticky, malty goodness usually. I like the 7% abv also. Perfect.
To add to @guinness77 's post, be aware that it's probably unlike most Maibocks you'd encounter on the market. Take a look at the color in this pic from the web:
The only maibock I’ve had was dead guy ale I wasn’t a fan. I’m hoping this is more malty and less hoppy.
