I noticed alot of people on untappd drinking year old Hopslam in bottles still... Guessing because they don't want to let it go. How long will you hold onto your last can before you say goodbye til next year?

I made a sixer last one week then bought a mini keg that lasted about 10 hours. Drink Hopslam immediately then go buy more

Some people like it aged - becomes like a barleywine.

I've got one like 3 years old and a two year old. Saved them for science. I will probably pop the older one open soon.

It will never be better than when you get it.

    Don't let it sit.

I tried a bottle that was aged for 2 years and it had some weird coconut smells and flavors going on.

I think it took me around 6 months to drink the two cases I bought last year. It definitely had changed a good deal in the 4-6 month range, so I don't want to keep this year's more than 3-4 months. I bought less this year, and only have 8 cans left, so that won't be a problem.

Still pretty good in the normal DIPA window? 60-90 days?

If it's a great beer I tend to burn thru it pretty quick, Just because it's great stuff. I don't like old IPAs, I don't understand letting them sit a year, they weren't destined to be BWs.

IMO, yes. I'm sure others have different opinions. I think it holds up pretty well those first few months.

Only bought a sixer this year but it will be gone within about a week of purchase. When it comes to hoppy beers I rarely buy more than I plan to drink within a week, maybe 2 if it's something I can't easily get. No need to have a massive inventory of hoppy beer, buy fresh and drink fresh.

In years past a sixer has lasted me 6-8 weeks. This year I lucked out and grabbed two six packs and I think I've drank 5 in the less than 2 weeks.

I will say I've had "aged" hopslam at around 9 months and it was actually quite good. Not nearly as good as fresh, but much better than essentially any other "old" IPA/DIPA I've ever had. The honey sweetness and malt bill makes it drink like an American Barleywine. Worth a try with one bottle/can but for the most part I like drinking it fresh, but ration because I don't want it to go away.

6 pack of cans lasted 3 days. Too good to let it sit in the fridge any longer
