After seeing the thread http://beeradvocate.com/community/threads/beers-youve-had-shot-down.51344/...I remembered that I was taken aback by my aunt & sister at the Thanksgiving table. After we had eaten dinner and before we moved onto dessert, I opened up a 2011 Insanity and my wife opened up a 2012 Old Stock Ale. My aunt is a Manhattan/wine drinker & my sister usually sticks with wine/BMC. Gave them a small 2oz taste of each and their eyes lit up. They couldn't believe they were enjoying some beer. So that's my story.
That's a good story. You may have converted them to craft beer - it's a slippery slope (especially when you think about it from a $ perspective.) I will say Insanity is a terrific beer all around. I can see why someone who likes wine would enjoy this beer. Enjoy the holidays!!
