Really good. I haven't opened either of my bottles yet, but the pour on Saturday had a nice carbonation level in comparison to the keg they pulled early last month for the anniversary party.

This seems all too similar. A great beer is released, not a single talk of how the beer is, just how people got the beer.

The Beer is awesome, as was the release, and the cookie. Thanks Holy Mountain!

Had Midnight Still, 5 of Swords, white wine Witchfinder, and Demonteller. All beautiful beers. enjoyed with friends and strangers.

I detest lines, but I still went. Don't care about waiting in line to support these guys! And I'd rather wait in a line on a Saturday than drive down through traffic on a Friday afternoon after work only to find bottles are already sold out (like what happened to me for Phosphene and Clarette).

For what it's worth, I don't think there was a big problem with people muling either. Just people who love HM coming down to get some bottles of great beer.

I opened a bottle of Midnight Still yesterday with some friends and it was even better than on draft imho.

that's great to hear. i'm super stoked to try it, hopefully it'll be on draft again or around town. that is (almost) always the case for seattle releases, even HM.

The beer is very good. Had it on draft but still haven't had a bottle. Well balanced, good bourbon notes but doesn't taste like straight up bourbon, some vanilla and sweetness to it but subtle, dark with with nice brown head. A world class example of the style, top notch. Well worth the effort which was nowhere near as bad as what everybody that wasn't there is making it out to be. I arrived at 11 and was out by 1230 so I "wasted" a whole hour and a half of my life. Met some nice people and enjoyed the excitement of everybody.

Of course there will be lines for a limited release coming from a world class brewery. No way around it, other than not announcing the release. Holy Mountain is a new and small brewery, of course they are only going to have so much available. The crowd and excitement only shows how great of a reputation they gained from the public in their short existence. It speaks very highly of them.

Everything was very smooth and I appreciate the effort Holy Mountain made to make it as smooth as possible. The queue lines definitely helped keep it orderly and I personally didn't see any line cutting. Pretty chill crowd overall. Cookie was the best part!

Meh, I don't need to have an occasion or fancy bottle or line to support them. I do it almost once a week when I visit their taproom.

There is a reason there are lines. It's an amazing product. It's the exact same for good food. Paseo's used to have a huge line everyday. I haven't been there in a long time so I don't know now.

When you make a world class beer not going to distro this is what will happen no matter where you live. If there's enough people that want it there will be a line. If you don't like the lines then you will miss out on these type of beers.

Is this the right place to launch a formal protest to the term "world class"? What in the bloody hell does that mean anyway? I see it used to described about 3,000 breweries on this website. Do people in Bulgaria get a vote on this?

I had still on draft and out of the bottle. Definitely a solid offering. Worth the wait in line, and $16+ price point? No.

You think I was offended? Boy, how you misread that.
I am a crotchety, bitter asshole. If you just got that, I've been doing this wrong.

okay, fair, but you took a swipe at millennials and that wasn't cool. most of us are shaking our fists at the man while drinking local, craft beers. you're crotchety, and i like that, but save the millennial complaints for when it applies.

Lighten up, man. I said punished not tortured. The point was only that I wish there had been enough beer to last more than two hours, so I could come after work. I concluded the statement by saying I'd just drink more BBADS, which is a pretty damn fine consolation.

Everyone has gotten way too uptight in this thread. Let's all go have a beer and be friends again.

Maybe we should just nuke this thread from orbit like I said earlier. Or lock it.

Well, I'm heading down to Whitewall, in Marysville, on Saturday for their anniversary party. 5 barrel aged beers, and hand rolled cigars. Will prolly hit Skookum as well.
