Just had their double ipa...very, very good. similar to hop venom in many ways and i mean that as a compliment in case there is any doubt. excited for them to get the brewery open to the public and producing on a larger scale...i havent been able to drink a brewery's beer from the time the are brand new until they grow and mature many times...fremont is an example of a brewery who i think has gotten better and better at making beer to the point of being absolutely amazing but i think holy mountain is better today (from the beers i have tried) than fremont was at this stage and i am very excited to see what they develop over the years...anyone else out there had some good HM beers? how about examples of breweries that were very good from the start? or breweries that were not good and got good?
i've had three of their beers now... the fresh hop, the seer (hoppy saison), and their double oat brown. all three were excellent. i didn't know much about them, and i dropped by their brewery thinking they had growler-fills or a tasting room set-up by now. definitely not the case! anyone have updates on this? also, where'd you see the double IPA?
they were on another thread yesterday saying they would be open to the public in the next couple weeks or so... the masonry had their double ipa and has had a lot of their beers over the past couple months...
I had the DIPA at Chucks 85th a couple weeks ago, saw it at Bottleworks today. I love this brewery. Everything I've had from them has been stellar. Gose, lager, fresh hop IPA, brown, DIPA, saison.
sad i missed the fresh hop...i think the lager and DIPA are on at the masonry and they were going to tap the gose next...
Yup, they are awesome. Peep this article from a few months ago. Dudes know their shit and have taken their sweet time to make sure things are exactly how they want them to be before actually putting their beers out: http://seattlebeernews.com/2014/05/holy-mountain-brewing-looks-to-fill-niche-in-seattle-beer-scene/ Quality over quantity, always a good thing.
Yes, Holy Mountain DIPA is pretty good but comparing it to Hop Venom is like apples and oranges, I think they are completely different (in look, smell, taste, etc.) but both good. I think the Holy Mountain beers need some work. I would say at this point they are just OK but looking forward to future offerings
I actually thought Holy Mountain's DIPA look, smell, taste, etc. was similar to Hop Venom...not on the same level but felt the style was very similar...funny how much people's impressions can vary...
Agreed. Agreed. I thought the saison was awful.. Everything else I've thought was pretty decent. I have high hopes for their future brews!
