I was down in the dimmest, darkest furthest reaches of my basement and I found some bottles of a stout that I had brewed about 15 years ago. I opened one just now and it is still good! It is a very opaque dark brown. The carbonation has diminished but is still there. It leaves a thin head with lacing. It has a roasty aroma with some hints of sweet fruitiness. The flavor is roasty without being grainy and also has tones of dark fruits. The body is light and again. smooth. A very nice taste adventure for an autumn evening.
I have some bottles of a stout I made 15 years ago aging. Threw in lots of dark fruit, figs, dates oak chips soaked in port. Last one I had was intense. The other holy sh-t momemt is after seeing sack grain prices increase up from a year ago from my local homebrew store. With climate change and all I guess it is what it is.
I oughta crack open one of the majority ales I brewed for my nephews 10 years ago to see how they're doing.
