I decided to build my own small bar that is permanently open during these troubled times of Covid. Here’s the thread to its construction for anyone interested: https://photos.app.goo.gl/43kwrySmd3TudEEe6
Looks great! How many coats of poly did you end up put on the bar? I like the finished result Where'd you find the bar stools?
The bar stools were found on Amazon I used 3 coats of Varathane Ultimate Spar Urethane (oil based) Clear Gloss. I contemplated 4 coats but was happy with 3. Thank you for your comments
Very nice. Looks like a lot of work and attention to detail. Do you have any under-counter, in-cabinet pics?
I could be wrong, but I'm guessing the tower is for esthetic value. If I'm wrong, he's gotta have the 3 kegs behind that wall Everything looks very nice!!
Very well done! Will be contructing one very similar soon. Any changes you would make? I like the bottom rail but im currently trying to talk my wife out of getting it. Bar stools will have foot rest. thoughts?
You are right on! The tap tower is genuine, but not connected to anything. They are there just for looks!
The stainless steel foot rail was the most singular expensive part of the bar, but I felt it gave my bar that traditional "Bar look". I don't think there is anything I would have done differently. I'm glad I added the traditional oak bar rail to match the other oak woodwork, and I also like the Govee lights hidden away underneath the bar top. My bar stools have a foot rest, but I find the bar foot rail helps those who are shorter to stand on it to help get themselves up to sit on the higher seat of the bar stools. One think to bear in mind is the need to ensure the height of the bar top, and the overhang of the bar top on the customer side meets bar top requirements, which you can find online.
