    Class was good. They do a real good job there. It was nice to be able to ask questions on stuff I was unsure of. Grabbed all my gear after the class. Looks like my first batch will be an IPA, shooting for next weekend.

    Brown Ales, Amber Ales, and Dry Stouts are good candidates for your first brew. Simple forgiving styles. I'd skip an IPA for your first attempt solely because hops are expensive and your first batch isn't likely to be a great one.
