I grew up in Alabama and lived there during the revolution with Free the Hops. Anyway, I've lived in Arkansas for my residency for three years and I've taken up Homebrewing. Has there been any news that anyone is aware of about the legislature actually taking up the bill soon?

it is stalled because of crap that has nothing to do with the bill... very much like the previous FTH bills

The bill has passed out of the House and Senate Committee's this year and the bill has numbers in Both the House (HB9) and Senate (SB171). Right now its in limbo due to infighting between parties. They are currently on their "Spring Break" and should start back up the 1st week of April. We are hopeful that they will quit acting like 2 year old and get back to work. At this point it's not only hurting the Home Brewing Bill, but countless other pieces of Legislation that needs to be passed this year.

HB9 passed the house today. Now it's up to the senate.

After almost 2 hours of stupid debate, it passed the house 58-33. We did gain a new term from Sir Alvin Holmes, "taminated wit e-cola". Surprisingly he voted yes on the bill. Now things move to the Senate. If you're in Alabama, please contact your senator asap!

I'm buying a house in Birmingham and moving in June. I've already emailed and called Senator Slade Blackwell (who voted yes on past measures).
