Did anyone go to this? I was really curious but decided to do the Wildwood dinner instead. I hope I didn't make the wrong choice!
It was outstanding. Everyone who attended seemed to agree. The food was delicious (the mussel/halibut soup, quiche, my favorites), unique preparations (liquid nitrogen Cherry Adam & Drie Fonteinen Kriek sorbet, duck fat cookie), and Michael (2007, 2008, 2009 blend - may be in bottles later this year, although that's obviously not confirmed and depends on when Alan thinks it's ready) was extremely tasty. Also, and rule number one why you do not miss a beer dinner with Alan (although this is never expected of course, the man is very generous) - the jug of 1997 Storm Lambic he broke out at the end. There was an open seat next to me due to a no show, and I asked Wendy if a brewer/friend (of 7venth Sun in Dunedin, FL) of mine who is up for OBF could join us, and she accommodated her. Excellent job all around! Thanks again to Sean, Alan, Wendy and the entire HotD staff for a very memorable evening! I'm not sure if this will show correctly, but here is a shot of the mad scientists in action: http://i.imgur.com/Npii8.jpg
