While on the road this past week, I spent several hours listening to BeerSmith Podcasts. I'm always looking for new Podcasts or Youtube channels that deliver solid content.

What Podcasts and Youtube channels do you follow, and what draws you back each time?

    Brewing Network - all shows,
    Basic Brewing Radio,
Drew and Denny's Experimental Brewing Podcast

Approximately one week every month, I'll load these plus Beersmith onto my iPhone and listen during every dog walk and work commute. Basic Brewing Video is just as good too, although less doable during a commute or a dog walk. Chop and Brew has some good video, too, but it is irregularly produced. The old Brewing TV podcasts, which pre-date Chop and Brew, are must see- Beer TV. Dawson of Brewing TV kept a blog and video podcast for a while after the show ended, but it has not been updated for quite some time. While I don't have favorite youtube channels, I do find myself watching various youtube vids when curiosity strikes.

    Basic Brewing Radio
    Craft Beer Radio
    Experimental Brewing
    BeerSmith podcast

These are my top four audio podcasts, in terms of minutes spent listening. I used to be into the Brewing Network, and I still listen sometime, but (IMHO) those guys sort of got to where they just like top hear themselves talk. There have been other podcasts that have come and gone (and probably others that should just go), but these four seem like they will continue for the foreseeable future. Cheers!

Excellent. I've not listened to any of these yet.

Is Basic Brewing Radio mostly focused on homebrewing/brewing techniques? Or is it just a general beer Podcast?

    Thanks and cheers!

Mostly homebrewing. It's been on the air for 10+ years, approximately weekly, so that ends up being a lot shows. Same with the Brewing Network. What that ends up meaning is that some topics get repeated, and to expand the material and keep things interesting, there may be interviews with probrewers and other beer luminaries beyond homebrewing. This is definitely true for the Brewing Network's flagship show, the Session.

The older brewing network shows really ramped up my interest in home brewing. Funny and informative, highly recommended.

Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!

I feel the same way. They also help remind me that I have so much more to learn

Pretty much everything mentioned. The Brewing Network has gone downhill, IMO. Heck the main host hasn't even been on the show in like a year, lol, plus I got sick of listening to them poo poo anything new and innovative in the industry, ie. Black IPAs and NEIPAs, and a lot of their info was just plain wrong. I haven't listened to the Session in quite some time, and when I do it is typically their older shows (say 2014 and older) which are far more fun and informative. I'll still check out Brew Strong and Dr. Homebrew when new episodes are posted, though.

Hard to beat Beersmith for pure info, though Experimental Brewing isn't far behind. Not a podcast, but I routinely read Brulosophy xbmts. Very informative.

I gave a few of the suggestions a listen today. BeerSmith does seem to be the most informative from what I've listened to. I'll have to give Experimental Brewing a listen.

Brulosophy is great stuff. The first thing I picked up from them was how to properly blind taste :grinning:

Yeah it's pretty good, sometimes I struggle with Drew's speech pattern though, it can be quite annoying. Sounds like he's gagging on a sock mid-sentence sometimes. I think he has vastly improved compared to some of his guest appearances on the Brewing Network, though.
