Hey there, frustrating summer here (desert southwest) struggling with trying to use wife wine fridge, and my kegerator. We typically dont use the AC all day, so Ive hade a hard time controlling temps. In the winter I was placing a space heater close to the conicals, but that wasnt really "control"
I finished this today. Aside from already having the SS chilling kit, I added the heater upgrade. I have two conicals, but only use them as primary/secondary. Going to try a SMASH pearl malt / mosaic tomorrow.
I got the chiller (1/4hp) off Amazon.

I've had my eye on that water chiller from Amazon , , , could you provide some details? Is the chiller circulating water to the blue bucket (reservoir?) and a separate pump circulating cold water from reservoir to the primary? Little hard to picture it all from your photo and Amazon description, please enlighten and/or show photo behind the primary.

My summers are frustrating all year long . . .

Nice DIY hack in the true tradition of homebrewing. Prost!
Yeah, we could use a mini chiller for lots of good things.

    Mine is not. Winter OTOH.

So theres a small pump in the 5 gal. its 7/16th ID. submersible came with the SS brewtech kit, but alone there like $20 on amazon. I upsize to 1/2" for the chiller. It goes into the IN of the chiller, since it doesnt have a pump. Gets cooled, then heads into the coil built into the top of the conical lid. heads out and dumps back into the bucket. pretty simple and it breaks down really easy. I use the pump on my counter wort chiller too. bucket of ice and it drop in like 12 minutes after hopstand.
