    Hi Everyone,

My Wife and I (We are from Saint Paul, Minnesota, US) will be traveling to your great city for our honeymoon June 27th-July 5th. We will be spending until Tuesday in Vancouver downtown and from Tuesday on on Quadra Island. I can do the work myself by reading past posts on where we have to go for great beer, but I was curious if there are any beer festivals or events going on from June 27th-July 1st we could get lucky and attend. The craft beer culture and community has really exploded in Minnesota the last couple years and we have become very involved. We would love to get lucky and be able to attend a fest while there. Thanks in advance.

    Chris

Hi Chris, first off congratulations! Unfortunately I don't think there is anything specific going on that particular week. We just concluded the Vancouver Craft Beer Fest last weekend.

For Vancouver here is a recent thread in the Canada form (http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/vancouver-suggestions.182765/) that discussed a few shops etc (see my post in there linking back to another thread from October 2013).

Lots of great options in Vancouver right now - the nano and micro brewery scene is booming. You can also get a bunch from the US (including seasons from Upright, Logsdon, Commons etc) and from Quebec and Belgium etc in our shops.

Breweries - Hit Main Street. There are a bunch here that are producing some great and interesting stuff (including barrel and sour programs). Check out Brassneck, Main and 33 Acres. If you end up near Delta (by one of the ferry terminals) you will want to check out Four Winds. Very new but producing some beers along the lines of Commons and Logsdon.

There are another bunch over on the east side (Parallel 49, Powel Street) that produce some good beers.

All of the above generally have food trucks stationed in front.

For bars you will want to hit The Alibi Room and maybe St. Augustines.

    Have a great trip.

EDIT: I assume you will not be hauling beer up with you, but if you do feel free to PM me about IP trades.
