I'm traveling through with my wife and kids. What's the best place for beer/food/kids?

Hadn't seen anything in the past year.

Lots of options, if you're only going to pick one place though, I would choose pFriem. Great beer, service, food, atmosphere, it is right on the river and an awesome spot for lunch. I'm sure others can speak more to some of the other great spots in HR but that would be my pick, have a great trip!

I'm between pFriem and double mountain on that one. Kids love that pizza at Dbl MTn! And I usually see a lot of families in there.

my Hood River routine is get some salads + appetizers (and of course beer!) at pFriem and also let kids play at the park across the street, and then head to Double Mountain for a Pizza (2 minute drive from pFriem)

Check the wait at Double Mountain.. Weekdays arent bad, but it gets slammed on the weekend. pFriem too for that matter

It's a bit outside of Hood River, but I'm a big fan of BBQ across the street from Solera + Solera.

Other than that +1 & +1 for pFriem and Double Mountain.

Just moved to Hood River recently. pFriem and Double Mtn. have the best beers (IMHO). Both have great selections (also can get bottles to go if you have to just drop in). Both can have minors on site until 9:00 PM. I have a 4 and 6-year-old. They like the menu at both places. Can't go wrong with either. If the weather is nice the park across the street from pFriem is awesome for kids.

Must be a big change from Georgia! Hope you like it there, I've always enjoyed my trips down to Hood River. Lovely place.

I haven't had the pFreim fresh hops but both Double Mountains were really good. pFreim does have some kids toys inside the restaurant, and the park across the street is really nice.

If the wait isn't bad and you can find parking I'd suggest Double Mountain. Also minor thing I really liked about them, if there's a wait, you can have them text you when your table is ready and you have 5 mins to come back and claim it. Meaning you can walk across the street to Logsdon and check them out while waiting.

Pfriem is the best brewery in the entire Northwest region in my opinion and is very kid friendly so id do that.

Double Mountain is good, but I really like pFriem's space. Great food, super kid friendly with the play area and a much better selection of beers on tap.

If you add in Holy Mountain, I would agree.

to me, you would have to add Fremont, Holy Mountain, Great Notion, Block 15, hair of the dog, and on and on and on.

lets just say we live in a wonderland of great beer

I can't really agree with this, but I can't really argue with it either. Pfriem does so many styles, so very well, they would certainly be on my short list.
