BA has decided to limit brewery-specific threads to monthly/annual threads. Hoof Hearted rarely has more than four releases a month, so I think an annual thread is in order (two months in 2016 only yielded five thread pages). The rationale is to keep things more organized.

    For newcomers (aka FAQ):
Hoof Hearted has two locations (Marengo and Columbus). The Marengo location is where many canning events occur. Marengo canning events are usually announced via Facebook on Mondays and occur on the following Sunday. These events require a ticket to reserve can allotments. Details on allotments and price vary per release. Growler and Draft are both options at these releases and do not require a ticket. Food is often available through a food truck. This location is only open during canning events at this time.

The Columbus brewpub is only open Weds-Sun at this time. They do growler fills, but they are pricy (discounts can be had depending on the day of the week; check social media for details). Food is available, though pricy. Canning releases here have become more commonplace, but they are sporadic. Social media is the best option to keep updated. Taplist is available here (though there is some lag between updates).

Overall, HH does a decent job with hazy NE-style IPAs and is a good Ohio brewery. "Flagship" brews include Roller Blabe, Konkey Dong, South of Eleven, and Musk of the Minotaur.

For those looking from the previous thread:
A few releases will round out early 2017. This schedule is subject to change, but is what has been rumored.
    • South of Eleven DIPA (rumored for 1/22/17 release)
    • EWS Mosaic (rumored for late Jan or early Feb)
    • Zipper Ripper DIPA (rumored for a release TBA)

Although this is my favorite DIPA of theirs, I'm guessing it will be a mellow crowd of regulars. Tickets went from 440-300 instantly, then to 170 2 minutes later. Now it's hanging around 100, so no instant sellout.

Any word if EWS Mosaic will be out the weekend after? Leave 2/3 for the Caribbean and would love to take some with me.

I feel the same. Though I don't mind it. Konkey was a mess. Happy to hang with the regulars as that's usually why I come out now.

Miracle Toast is heading to nitro cans; likely a brewpub release.

I thought nitro bottling/canning was an expensive, special process that only Guinness, Left Hand, Sam Adam's, Oskar Blue's and Breckenridge really do? (Maybe more I can't think of right now...)

I wonder how they will be doing it... Any other small scale breweries do it?

They've done it with their cold brew coffee. Btw, I saw on Instagram that they were canning at the brewpub today with nitrogen, so I expect those cans to be available later this week.

I think Modern Times has done it (don't quote me on that though).

Breckenridge has a lot of Nitro cans out. Sam Adams is doing it. It's probably the next big thing in beer, which is unfortunate because I don't enjoy it.

Looks like no release this week. I'm pretty surprised... usually it's been 3-4 releases per month. Looks like they'll only be hitting SOE in Jan.

Yeah kind of strange. Heres to a double release on Super Bowl Sunday!

heard trough the grapevine that the last batch of south of eleven was actually north of eleven if you know what I mean. It did seem a little boozier than I remember.

I hear Hoof said EWS Mosaic and Zipper Ripper 2/5

It is dank as fuck, for real. Liquid weed. I remember there being more orange marmalade the first batch I ever had but it's still my favorite from them. I didn't detect any more booziness than any other version.

I mean that I got a more of a buzz from one can than I remember, the taste wasn't necessarily boozier making it more believable when I heard this batch was more like 13%.

Are they tweaking things that much to account for a 2+% jump in ABV? I don't brew but that seems like a massive jump.

Not really. For Hoof I'd say this is pretty normal.

I would say that would be a pretty huge change in their process to get an extra 2% out of a similar grain bill. Or the last time they brewed it they were really bad. Either way I find it hard to believe.

Found some hoof nitro coffee cans at my local bottle shop today. Being a coffee drinker and hoof fan I bought them at $16/4 pack without thinking twice. Review is that it tastes like standard Starbucks dark roast chilled then canned with no nitro qualities to speak of. Never had coffee on nitro before so I guess my expectations were that of a Guinness which prolly isn't fair. Either way it was a letdown at $16

I saw this and I was kind of curious about it, but nitro coffee is very fluffy and creamy. They have it at Braxton in Covington and a couple Starbucks in big cities. It's awesome.
