Debating whether to go to this release or not. Can anyone tell me what the malt characteristics of the base of the EWS series? Citra is my favorite hop and pissed i didn't get to try that version of it but just curious.

 

I'm surprised they didn't Uber the cans.

 

Given the color and lack of flavor, the base for EWS is likely just base malt with very little, if any, specialty malt.

 

Well I might go through with going to this release. Unsure at the moment. I am very eager to try Draggonsaddle or Kongey Dong at some point!

Looks like this one made it into distribution... At least to one shop in Dayton -- Ollie's Place.

 

Hoof posted to Instagram that they are brewing a stout with (generic) cinnamon toast crunch cereal in the mash. I am pretty excited about this one.... Hope it's canned lol

 

Its going to be bottled. Maple syrup, vanilla, Saigon cinnamon, then mashed with CTC.

 

Really hope these stouts come out well. It will put an end to their one trick pony criticism. They have been cranking out all these great DIPA's but between BA Mom Jeans, the coffee stout collab with JO, and this one it sounds like they are starting to explore more.

I don't know...but for me, Belloq, Cultrider, and regular Mom jeans are delicious (not so much Voltan). Before I had those three, I fell into the one trick pony tony assumption too, but not anymore. Rose Gose and others have helped sway me as well.

Anyway, going to crack BA Mom Jeans tonight or tomorrow night.

 

Agreed. Really enjoyed Belloq and Rose Gose. I was telling Trevor that he should can Rose but one can only hope.

 

Anyone else think this will be the best out of the EWS series?

 

The inventors of this hop are the same inventors of Galaxy hops, which for me personally, are the best.

 

Hard to say given it is a new hop most people have not had... Could be awesome, or meh... I am really hoping they do an EWS Columbus.

Ok so after this beer on Sunday, trying to get an idea of how the month will go at Hoof.

-They have taken off a week after two successive canning at the brewery. So next week they will probably be off.
-So this leaves the 24th as the next canning. Any ideas on what it could be? I agree that the stout brewed with Jackie O's will be pushed back because it just seems that 3 weeks will be too green to can.
-Any idea if Dragonsaddle will make a return in the upcoming month?
-Any other inputs would be great. I have really started to like the Roller Blabes I got a couple weeks back. That beer in particular needed time to get very good in the can imo. I just like to know what the new releases will be to plan my weekends early.
