There shouldn't be a green edge. Wait two weeks and try it again.

Unwind Your Mind also needs another week or two IMO.

It was really slight in this one, though. This isn't like the last batch of GB, I'm just wondering if it's part of what put people off. I actually like a little green (a recent Corridor beer had it too, which I liked).

My point was more on the effort of arranging those hazies from Mars to be delivered to your doorstep being less than what people are going to for HB. I'll just keep getting stuff filled at Corridor at my convenience.

I'd probably go to Corridor like 90% of the time if they actually canned stuff I want regularly (and did more than 100 4-packs at a time). I prefer Galaxy Bowl to their galaxy stuff usually, but Squeezit is absolutely top tier imo.

Those guys need more brewing space so bad.

I'd disagree with this because I really don't like shipping at all. I monitor Instagram, etc. throughout the day anyway (in general), so keeping an eye on when a store gets HB really isn't that big of a hassle for me. Of course, I'm not going around store to store finding multiple packs and chasing the truck.

Well hop butcher is not sending a ton to every store which gives it some artificial hype as well. Half the liquor stores in naperville will get like 1 case of the big releases so they have to sell singles.

A lot of these liquor store owners are also having to go pick it up themselves because hop butcher won't deliver to them.

It wasn’t overly scientific but thunder in paradise (Alv St), Sp boots, juice invader, lil Betty were around the top.

Most people felt tavern cut had a weird sweetness to it. There was quite a bit of surprise on that one.

Interesting, I didn't find it particularly sweet at all (I actually would've liked a tad more sweetness). But I had it by itself, so that's one possible explanation.

Sounds like we need to set up a hazy ipa blind tasting. I'll team up with @KrajDoesBeer to rent out a warehouse

I always love FR's NE IPA takeovers, but I have to say that even just during a flight of 5, I can feel my palate getting less and less discerning. It's part of why I don't do many blind tests.
    (they're still awesome though)

No offense, but your palates had to have been wrecked when you tried it. It’s not sweet at all, straight up dank/oniony which everyone else has noted.

And it’s definitely why it’s my favorite of theirs in awhile.

My first can of Tavern Cut was just ok. Not as good as B1, but looking forward to trying the second can in a bit. @croush - I got one for you in the fridge, the other was a present to a cousin. Sharing is caring!

I was disappointed in my first cab of galaxy traveling scientist. The second can was awesome. I wish I could better control for my palate fluctuations / time of beer maturity.

After their collab stout with BL blew me away, I’m willing to be a big bear on HB if they nail this Wintry Mix brown.

Thank you for this! I'm so glad I'm not crazy... dank I can do, I can't understand why you'd want oniony aromas/flavors in your beer.

I think people are overstating how hard it is to find HB beers that AREN'T milkshake beers. The last few months i had no problem finding everything except Blazed Orange and Cherry milkshake, and at least a part of that is the batch sizes are smaller.

And i'll also throw my 2 cents in on Tavern Cut ... it's my favorite beer of theirs in the last few months ... they crushed the mouthfeel on this one and the 'greenness' people speak of wasn't something i noticed.

I dunno, people like the whole "cat piss" thing in Simcoe (I like 'em all). It's probably like cilantro, where some people are just genetically incapable of enjoying the flavor(s).
I regret mentioning the green thing, because it's super subtle; I just thought it might be throwing people off (since I didn't think anything else was weird).

In terms of finding HB beers, I rarely strike out when I'm trying to get a specific beer of theirs, but I don't consider my "response time" indicative; I can generally get to Grand within 15 minutes of someone posting (if it's during a week day), and I can make it to Bitter Pops before 5pm after work. The hot milkshakes ones disappear within a couple hours at the places I shop, and the bigger non-milkshake releases seem to, too (Tavern Cut, Galaxy Bowl, etc.). The generic weekly releases are probably easier, I just don't get all of them.

Tavern cut is the best thing they've released since the 2nd release of Galaxy Bowl.

Test Your Might was awesome. The only HB beer I liked better was Blazed Orange Milkshake.
