Really? I had high hopes for candlebright especially since they have some in pappy barrels. But I wasn’t super impressed. Not saying it was bad just didn’t think it was great.

Honestly think it may be that people rarely drink non-BA barleywines these days.

I thought candlebright was very well done for a straight up traditional barleywine.

For some strange reason I actually trust your beer reviews. Now I’m regretting not seeking this out.

LO was a revelation for me last winter. Since it was a single hopped beer, I didn’t seek it out but loved it when I tried it. It made me want to see them do some more single hop beers really

I tried it again for solidarity honestly to me it tastes like they made double Newcastle. Again not saying it’s bad but imho there is room for improvement. It’s good not great. Especially when they decided to put it in barrels that probably set them back a small fortune. Hopefully I find out I was wrong in a couple of years...

Does HB say anywhere (label, media, wherever) when a beer they produce has lactose? I know there was a discussion about this in the 2019 thread but wondering what the current situation is.

Had Lord Octopus last night and enjoyed it, but also thought it was very "typical Hop Butcher." Not saying that in a negative way because I liked it, I'm just saying this isn't one like Farmed Fresh where I'd suggest it to someone even if they don't normally like HB beers. If you usually don't care for HB, I doubt this will do anything for you.

Where does Binny's Grand fall in HB's typical weekly drop off rotation?

And Binny's SLoop (Jefferson), for that matter?

The drinkability coming out of next week's three beers is bonkers.

Cold Pizza - Our third tribute to the almighty pizza gods in the form of a Cold IPA spin on Tavern Cut. Think hand-selected Citra & Vic Secret with heaps of lagered hop vibes. 6.0% ABV.

Double Saaz - Our second Italian Style Pilsner, except this time with alllll the Saaz and allll the Zuuper Saazer. 5.0% ABV.

Green Moss - Ole buddy ole pal. Citra & Simcoe hazy, hop cannon, but smooth as all get-up. You know this one. 7.5% ABV.

I found this batch of Tavern Cut to be disappointing. Given that HB prematurely releases these beers green as they are rarely at peak flavor, they should consider moving to 12oz 6 packs so you have more opportunity to actually hit on a good, balanced beer.

I'll agree that it has a bit of that "green" quality to it. Regardless, the one I'm drinking right now is mighty fine.

Also, I really liked Normalize last time I had it. Looking forward to revisting that one for the first time in quite a while.
