seems to be the only place that carries small brew beers. I found the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel ale there, but cannot find, Pretty Things, anywhere.

I've been wondering how this place compares to Green's. In the past, Green's has been my go-to store in Atlanta. I'll be there next month so I think I'll go to Green's on Ponce and then Hop City to compare the two.

One thing that I like about Green's is that they keep their Facebook and Twitter accounts updated with recent arrivals so I usually have a good idea of what's available.

They share the same distro, so most of the time.. If one has it, the other does. In more cases than not, if HopCity is out, Green might still have the tail ends of it.

Both are good stores. HopCity is obviously nicer, newer shopping center, but their prices are a bit higher than Greens, with that.

When I make a "beer run".. I'll head to both. I used to live in the Highlands, so Greens on Ponce used to be my place.

HopCity has growler fills, which is the icing on the cake, IMO. You can forgot about getting anything super limited or rare at that store though.

I always had great finds in World of Beverages in Smyrna off South Cobb. Never got a chance to hit HopCity, but I heard it's a great place to get homebrew gear.... and it's pricey.

It's been a couple of years since I've been to Green's, but they don't sell singles do they?

Hop City does sell singles though, right?

I still plan on making a stop at both.

OK, I have compared Hop City to others numerous times. Personally, my game plan is this:

I go to Green's on Ponce to pick up whatever looks good. Anything I can't find there, then I go to Hop City. Why?? Simply put, the prices aren't good at Hop City. I've seen as big of a difference as 2 dollars on a six pack. I rarely find them to be the same price.

Also, I just discovered Ale Yeah, which is a bit smaller but has a good vibe...that's in Decatur. Prices were reasonable there.

As for single, Green's has a very limited selection of those.

I hit Hop City this past Sunday. I'm more of a sample it and move on kind of guy, so I was looking for singles in particular. The employee that helped me let me get a bottle from various six packs. Customer service is out of this world good. <subliminal message> GO THERE!!! BUY LOTS OF BEER!!!</subliminal message>
