I'll be coming to Birmingham from Memphis on Saturday for the Magic City Brewfest. I'll be hitting up Good People, Avondale, and Hop City for sure. What's a general list of the breweries and beers I can expect to find at Hop City?
Great place with a taproom inside that even does 4 oz pours for about $1.50 so you can try a little bit of everything. Here's a short rundown of what I saw for sell: Clown Shoes, Westbrook, Stillwater, Avery, Mikkeller, Ballast Point, Stone, Bells, Founders, Evil Twin, Left Hand, Southern Tier, Jester King, Cigar City, tons of Belgians, Hanssens, Fantome
I love Hop City! There's nothing like getting a pour of something tasty while browsing their selection. Looking forward to being back in B'ham this summer.
Hop City is beer heaven. I always get 4-5 samples while I'm shopping. Whenever you plan to be back in Birmingham, go to their website to see what's on tap in Growlertown. Then you can make a list of beers to try. I proudly wear my Hop City T-shirt back home.
Just down the sidewalk from Hop City is a little Mexican restaurant called Cantina. You can go get food to go and bring it back to Hop City and sit at one of the tables on the patio and have your choice of 60 great beers to have with your meal. You're also just a few blocks from TrimTab Brewing (a relatively new brewery that's making some great beer) and Good People as well.
I just wanted to say thanks for the recommendation of Hop City. I drove down to Destin on Saturday and made a detour there to get some beer for my vacation. If I didnt have my family with me I could've spent hours there! They had a ton of beers on tap that I would have loved to sample, especially Mexican Cake. Id like to stop there on my way home but I dont know if my wife's going to go for that. We'll see!
Stopped in here yesterday. Had a great selection and the prices seemed to be fair. Was also to get my hands on Westbrook Gose so I'm pretty excited to try that out.
