http://shop.brewbakers1.com/product.sc?productId=18&categoryId=12 found this while browsing around. I wouldn't buy that one but could easily make some myself. anyone seen or experienced these?
Not a bad idea, but I would rather do it on my own with well stored hops. Seems like the carbonation would force it to the surface though.
I have a home brewing friend who grows his own hops but usually has a surplus. I'm going into business.
Now all we need is a malt extract filled "MiO" dispenser to turn every beer into an imperial version.
I use one of those metal Tea Sticks. Works great, I like to make fresh green tea one cup at a time. Then in the case of wanting to dry hop a beer I put some whole leaf hops in there and BAM!!!!! Can't wait for my Columbus and Cascade hops I'm growing to be harvested.
Nope. I've done it myself a couple times with hop cones in one of those stainless steel tea infusers. Actually does give it some nice fresh hop flavor, but I wouldn't do it often. No reason to buy something like this.
Sounds like it'd taste like ass. I have heard of people French pressing brews with fresh hops, but not this.
Just another way for people to fool themselves. Oh I put a stale hops tea bag in my cheap beer and its just as good as all that fancy stuff... Capitalizing on ignorance, IMHO.
I actually thought "hop filled teabag" was an insult to IPA drinkers..."Oh yeah, well you're just a hop-filled t-bag!". My bad.
Makes me wanna do a science experiment and find out what kind of "buzz" i get from it drinking this. If I do get a buzz im adding it to all my teas. Imagine how cool it would be to troll around your work drinking your hoppy tea on the job
There was a thread in the homebrewing forum (I think here on BA buy maybe HBT) about a user dry hoping budlight with several different types of hops to get a feel for each hop.
I prefer to first slightly "chew" the cone and then sort of sip the beer through the cone in my mouth, the way some will drink tea through a sugar cube.
