Don't cellar it. The hops will fade.

I had a hop lollipop (Hey that rhymed!) but I forgot who made it. It was disgusting.

I didn't think the candy was necessarily disgusting. I guess it tasted like hops, but not in the way I'd like to enjoy them.

You should try the Target, it tastes like rootbeer? Upfront Clove gives way to Cedarwood and when they all come together, it's pretty crazy. The Citra is what it is, a little bit of peach for me. Others dig it.
Was it from Yakima? Those are quite different than 'B-Hoppy'.

They gave them out at a tap takeover last year and I slipped it in my wife's purse. Never saw it again. She grabbed it thinking it was her normal grapefruit one and bitched me out with the standard "that is everything I hate about beer" argument. I should have kept it.

No, as long as people buy it. Tastes vary and create different demand markets.

Just like any other product, if there are willing buyers there will be willing sellers, producers, and manufacturers. I will admit that some of the super hoppy/bitter beers are no longer on my list of beers to buy.

I cannot fathom a point where I use the phrase "too much" with regard to anything of hop. I do however reserve the right to adjust my opinion if my tongue literally melts from hop poisoning. But even then, I'd probably claim responsibility for somehow mishandling the offending item.
