Went over to Brouwers around 8pm last night to check out their hop mob event. the very idea that fourteen breweries in/around Seattle brewed a triple IPA for the event (or, at the very least, made a keg of their triple IPA available for the event) is incredible. Unfortunately, quite a few kegs i was hoping to try were kicked by 8pm, including reuben's, black raven, and georgetown. Damn you, day drinkers! For the ones i did try, i was very impressed with elysian's yippe ki yay and naked city's IIIPA. What'd everyone else think?
Agreed. And missed Black Raven/Georgetown as well. From what was left I thought Populuxe was easily the winner, with Elysian and Airways next. Did anyone get to try Blimey, and did it live up to billing?
Triple IPA related - went to Naked City last week and they had Breakside Safe Word TIPA on tap which was incredibly well balanced and very tasty, given the hefty 11%+ ABV. If it's still on tap, highly recommended.
Had Blimey on tap at Reuben's along with two bottles today. There was a line (what's up with that Seattle?!?!), but not too bad. Great beer.
Nice. Any chance there's any left? I might swing by... And there was a line for their BA Imperial Stout back in the day. I think a lot of the people in line were members, but they certainly have big draws these days.
At least we don't have to deal with that silly Pliny the Younger craziness. Selling tickets for a glass of it. Really?
sweet, snagged two bottles and a pour at the brewery. thought it was fantastic. definitely a bottle to share, i'm not sure i could drink 22oz without completely destroying my pallet.
