Has anyone mixed these two together? A buddy of mine in PA said they do it at the brewery and it's awesome. Also, Arrowine in Arlington got a few cases in last night. Picked up some 4-packs. Great beer
They mix a bunch of beer at the brewery. As per Hop Ranch mixed with summer love the thought never crossed my mind, so I haven't done that yet.
Really? I never got this whole mixing thing and it surprises me that people want to do it and that people request it at the brewery. Oh well, to each his own.
I don't understand how this particular mix can be done; Summer Love is a summer seasonal while Hop Ranch has only been available in the winter (last year and this year). Very confusing. Cheers!
Yup, the math works there. I would just mention that I bought three 4-packs of Hop Ranch last year (January 2014) and by March/April that beer was drastically different from the beers I drank in the January/February timeframe. I would personally highly encourage others to drink their Hop Ranch beers now and not age them for 5 months. Just my opinion. Cheers!
The lack of overlap in the schedule of these beers was the first thing that occurred to me as well, but to get into the spirit one can imagine that they are in a pub in England in the 18th century and ordering a mix of mild and stale.
lol I still can't find Hop Ranch in Morris County, NJ. meanwhile, I have friends in Seattle and Charleston, SC who said it's on tap and readily available there. distribution is weird. oh well.
I went home for the holidays and there was like 10 summer loves still in my basement fridge...guess my dad wasn't a huge fan lol. So I brought them with me when I left, still have about 5, doesn't taste the same...prob bc not as fresh. I would definitely try this but I only have 1 hop ranch left and old summer loves. Big fan of both beers tho
I wouldn't save any Summer Love this long, nor would I hold onto Hop Ranch until Summer Love is available again. Neither of those beers is going to be near their best when the other gets released. I had some Summer Love in October, and it already was far from being fresh tasting.
Still looking for some? I work at Liquor Factory, have recently become beer manager. We have some at our Jefferson & Sparta locations. Cheers
