I am going to try a clone recipe for Avery's Old Jubilation I found online. Here is the recipe: MALT/GRAIN BILL 13 lb 4 oz ( 6 kg) Pale malt 11 oz (312 g) Special Roast 11 oz (312 g) Victory Malt 4 oz (113 g) Chocolate Malt 2 oz ( 57 g) Black Malt HOPS SCHEDULE 1.5 oz (43 g) Bullion [7.6 %] at 60 minutes 0.5 oz (14 g) Bullion [7.6 %] at 30 minutes 1.0 oz (28 g) Bullion [7.6 %] at 0 minutes YEAST Wyeast 1056 American Ale My local Home Brew shop has everything except the Bullion Hops. They said they are not available to the Home Brew market but have some varieties they would recommend as a substitution. What recommendations would you all suggest? Thanks in advance!!
Maybe Bramling Cross, although I don't see that sitting in an LHBS freezer very often. Or maybe Brewer's Gold.
Brewers Gold is Bullion's sister, it is similar. You can buy Bullion in the homebrew market, for a price. https://www.homebrewing.org/Bullion-Hop-Pellets-1-oz_p_111.html
The first thing that came to mind was Northern Brewer, because that is in my freezer. It’s what I would use for that reason. But I think it would make a good beer and I see it sometimes listed as a sub for bouillon
