Oddly enough, the Lagunitas stamp usually reads clear as day once the bottle is empty!

There's no such thing as a Hop Stoopid question.

I've never detected any onion flavors in it, just a heavy dose of grapefruit.

We finally have Stoopid available again locally; I can't find any dates on the bottles though; weren't these dated at one time?

    You got an old bottle.

Hop Stoopid degrades in a way that less hoppy beers do not.

It needs to be fresh like most.

Julian dates really arent that hard to decode. Hold up to light and the black ink isn't too hard. /30 and you get a general rough date it was bottled. Much prefer their bottling date than a general best by date.

No one is saying that the code is difficult to comprehend - but rather it is nearly impossible to locate.

Can't imagine why brewers don't use yellow or white stamps.

Lagunitas has a Julian bottle date on the necks of their bottles ..

I'm glad I don't taste onion in any IPA's. I know the flavor everyone is talking about, it doesnt taste like onion to me though, fortunately.

I know where to find the date, and how to decode it. My problem is the fridge it's in at the store I frequent doesn't have the right lighting to read it, and I have to walk across a couple aisles to hold it up to a better light, and even then, I don't always succeed. Plus, I usually get odd looks from people as I rotate it under the lighting, probably wondering why I'm trying to place a bottle of beer in the milk/dairy section...

I should probably do a public service, bring my own lighting equipment and magic marker, and identify old bottles for others by writing "Malt Stoopid" on them...
