This looks awesome. Do you need to get there a little before opening to get a seat? The only way the gf is going to drive my ass back home after is if she can sit down and get some food.

I've got some friends in town this weekend, and would love to take them to this. That said, I'm going to feel really guilty if we show up and have to wait outside for 2 hours to get in. Hoping it's low key, but then again, these things never really are...

I think last time, in 2013, the HF and Trillium kicked pretty quickly. I don't remember about the Tree House. There was no Alchemist stuff. The pulled pork was phenomenal. I got there after open, so I missed out on a bunch of stuff. It was a mad house and I would imagine that it will be even more so on Saturday given that interest in craft beer has grown greatly and the big names are due to provide beers for this.

Man, I can't wait for this event. Something tells me lines will be forming early and they'll be LONG. Personally I'll be there around 10:30. I'm expecting the line to be at least a block long

This is ridiculous....I will be out of town, but I would have loved to go to this if it wasn't going to be a shitshow....sounds like this should be moved to some larger outdoor space if people plan on showing up this early and still thinking they won't get in for a while.

Yeah, hard pass for me unfortunately. The list is awesome and it's for a great cause, but no way I'm lining up just to fight crowds to race to get a beer before it kicks. I hope those that go get to try what they want and have fun though!

If a block of people show up more than 6 and half hours early for a draft pour of a few beers, I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

I went in 2012, arrived about 10 minutes before noon, and there were maybe 15 people in line. Most notable beer that I can remember was HF Walden. It filled up some, but never got to the point that I would consider crazy. Wish I could make it again. Love hops, hate MS.

Really sucks the fun out of it, doesn't it?

Sounds like a fun event, however like some posters have already mentioned it will definitely be a madhouse. People will probably line up 2+ hours beforehand just to get Green Street or Mastermind.

Meh. Besides Focal there aren't many more beers on that list that haven't been tapped in MA recently or that a quick swing to trillium couldn't get you recently. Showing up 6 hours early doesn't suck the fun out, it's just needlessly stupid.

I'm not from the area. I could be WAY off. I've been to PH a few times. More recently a few weeks ago on a Saturday night and compared to the first time I went, it was crickets. Maybe because college kids are back home for the most part, the line won't be bad. A buddy of mine said the promo for the event hasn't been what you'd expect. The tap list is ridiculous though so I can't call it. Definitely the most insane tap list at an event I've ever been to.

Is there really anyone talking about showing up at 6 in the morning??

Sorry. I read the stop time (5pm) as the start time. Point still stands. Very few things that couldn't have been had with minimal effort in the recent past.

An event with one-stop shopping of HF, TH, Alchemist and Fiddlehead sounds like a better use of time than trips to breweries (with lines), following Untappd check-ins, tweets and FB posts.

But hey, that's just like my opinion and stuff.

Personally I can say that trading for Focal has been extremely difficult. Not only are traders not responding when they put up ISO's, but no one w/ FB is biting at anyone posting their own ISO/FT's.

Trilliums Green St sold out in about an hour and it's a one-off.

Driving over an hour to Tree House during summer is fun - and that's if you even get any Green. TH sells out of beers so quickly it's insane.

Hill Farmstead is a trip everyone should take once in their lives, but the trek there is ridiculous and that's putting it nicely.

My point is that some on this thread are acting as if these are shelf beers you could go out and get right now. I just don't see it. Furthermore, why trade for a beer when I can wait in a line for an hour or so and get a pour of all of them?

Many have been on tap at the armsby and other places with no line waiting in the past few months.

Fair enough. But the ones that haven't, people are going to go there to try whether they wait in line or not.

Listen, I don't know if there will be a line. I don't do stuff like this often. My guess is there will be. I can't call it.

Id rather be early with no wait than be late and not get in. I have a beer trade to do and I need to be out by 2 at the latest so ideally I want to get in quick and start.
