Hoppin Frog B.O.R.I.S.

    First off, I'm fairly new to both cellaring and BA. With that said, I just recently received a 2010 BORIS and decided to get a 2014 version of the beer to compare side by side and clearly note the changes of the beer (for my novice palate). The head on the beers were almost identical and could not notice signs of carbonation loss on the 2010. The aroma and taste of the 2010 had much more chocolate than the 2014 and was just all around more smooth and complex of a beer. After comparing these two beers I will definitely be bulking up my cellar for more side by side tastings down the road!

    I've got a 2014 I haven't opened, but I haven't had B.O.R.I.S. aged. I'd be interested in starting a vertical.

    keep in mind each release / batch would have a different batch of barrels, possibly different classifications of spirits, possible variations in the final blends etc. just sort of jumping in as the logic isn't limited to "B.O.R.I.S.". not sure it's a good idea to buy into a batch from 4+ years ago differs from a more recent batch/release because of "aging". the 2 were likely not 100% equal @ their respective bottling points.

    or wait. regular BORIS? if so. never mind my above outburst at least the part on barrels. i haven't even been drinking either. i swear. lol.

    Yeah, it was just the regular BORIS, no worries! It was just a little tasting I decided to do with the 2010 version that I received as a gift, nothing technical haha
