Well, that's a lot of hoppy hyped beers I haven't had. (My life has just been a waste!). But in all reality, the ones I have had, have all been great, few have been mind blowing. And I feel that I would get the same reaction from the ones I haven't had yet. Also most importantly, freshness matters. Try to get them within a month of the bottling date. Getting them on draft is also a great idea, especially from the source.

Sorry if I didn't exactly follow the rules, but this was fun

I like the extreme IPA (e.g. Hoptimum, UnEarthly), but need to enjoy them in only sporadically so they're one or two happy faces as opposed to the more mainstream IPA's that I can pound... they get 3

 

Confused by the multiple happy faces, with the last smiley to say you are unsure why its so popular. Would the 4 smilies you gave it be the reason its so popular?

 

I have only somewhere around 1/3 to 1/2 of the beers listed here.
THe only beer that really disappointed me was Pliny the Elder. I've had it a couple times, at ~2 weeks and 3 days old, and while very good, it wasn't the "angel singing" experience I was expecting. Most other beers I've gone into with an open mind, but this one I'd heard such overwhelming things about I was expecting more.
