While Yakima Glory/Twilight was one of my favorite Victory beers, it was discontinued a few years ago. Victory recently re-brewed it for a one-time draft release.

Is this that hoppy now? when I reviewed back in 2011, I noted it was chocolate/coffee flavor dominated.

If you like your Black IPAs more IPA than Stout or Porter, I'd suggest two beers in particular.

I happen to really enjoy black ipas, and I know they are not everyones favorite, but I would recommend wookey jack, lagunitas nighttime, odell mountain standard, and a local favorite seal team six black ipa. I would also give a shoutout to stone SSR, hopefully it makes a comeback someday, as it was the best of the style for me.

Gotta go with Odell's Mountain Standard and the Wookey Jack for my two favorites. I remember having one from grand teton that was quite delicious as well. Fathead's Midnight, Boneyard's CDAs and Stone Sublimely Self-Righteous Black IPA (RIP) are close runners up...

Haven't had enjoy by black yet, but Stone 11th/Sublimly Self-Righteous was probably my favorite beer in the style, so I have high hopes for the next time it comes around.

Victory Storm King is super hoppy, but pulls it off well.

Seems like both are more traditional versions of porter and stout respectively. I believe that neither will invoke the hops strongly.

The way the juicy tropical hops play with the roasty malt is a delightful mindfuck

I had cans of jukebox that were really spot on and others that were kind of just alright.

Black Tuna by Pipeworks is pretty damn good

I believe Stone is re-releasing their 15th anniversary beer, great beer.

I don't like black ales/porter/stouts at all, including every one mentioned in this thread that I've had. But I once had a Bell's Uranus: The Magician, and if I didn't see it with my own eyes I never would have guessed it was a black IPA. Tasted like a solid regular DIPA to me.

Black Tuna if you can find it next time it's released. That stuff is legit. Not quite as good but I enjoyed Doug from Other Half as well.

If you haven't tried these, they are worth considering. They have a decent amount of hop character for imperial stouts.

I agree that what you are looking for isn't easy to find. Personally, I like FW Wookey Jack as my favorite black IPA.
