Hello everyone! New poster and new homebrewer here. I'm looking for a little feedback on some tweaks I made to the "Hoppy Thing" recipe by Nate Lanier from Tree House. I'm a huge fan of Tree House's stuff so, naturally, I had to give this a shot. I've never substituted hops in a recipe before so I just tried to keep the ratios in place for total hops, AA% and target IBUs. FWIW: I'm aiming for a tropical/citrusy juice bomb. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Grain Bill: 11.75 lb (5.3 kg) 2-Row malt 6 oz (170 g) Caramel 60 malt 4 oz (113 g) Honey malt Hop Schedule: 0.95 oz Simcoe at 60 minutes 0.62 oz Mosaic at 20 minutes 0.62 oz Citra at 20 minutes 0.75 oz Amarillo at 20 minutes 1.28 oz Simcoe at 0 minutes 0.71 oz Mosaic at 0 minutes 0.71 oz Citra at 0 minutes 0.85 oz Amarillo at 0 minutes 0.75 oz Mosaic at dry hop (4–6 days) 0.75 oz Citra at dry hop (4–6 days) 0.75 oz Simcoe at dry hop (4–6 days) 0.75 oz Amarillo at dry hop (4–6 days)
Thanks! I was worried that using all 4 hops might be a bit overkill, but I wanted characteristics from each of them.
