Hoppy Wheats

Thirded. Massive flavor and bittering hops. My favorite wheat beer to date.

 

This. Don't get it much, since they don't distro to PA, but have been known to sneak some over the border from Maryland.

 

80-Acre is my go to brew. I never get tired of that stuff.

 

I wouldn't say it's my favourite style but it's in my top 5. I often prefer white IPAs over 'standard' IPAs. There are a couple local breweries who do incredible examples. The fruit and floral qualities do seem to be enhanced by the wheat base.

 

80-Acre Hoppy Wheat is one beer that I buy over and over. It's crisp, refreshing, and goes great with bar food. Other good hoppy wheats are, Little Sumpin' Sumpin', Night Cat, & Accumulation.

 

Looks like 80-Acre is moving to the top of my want list.

 

Nothing that hasn't been said, but my top 3:

1) Gumballhead
2) Lil Sumpin Sumpin
3) 80 Acre

 

Modus hoperandi uses a nominal amount of red wheat in its grist. Does that count?

 

It's a seasonal, but I absolutely loved Victory Winter Cheers. I wouldn't mind seeing them turn it into a year-round selection.

I think Victory is putting out a new Hoppy wheat in March(next month)

 

One of my new absolute favorites, the perfect session beer. Just included one as an extra in a trade, and my trading partner immediately asked to trade for it in quantity. These guys (Modern Times) are the real deal.

 

This here. Just had my first Fortunate Islands not long ago and it is stellar. I like Lil Sumpin and Chainbreaker but FI stands out compared to the former. I'm beating myself over the head for only getting one!!

Based on the fact it comes in a 16 oz can format, I'd say Fortunate Islands is the Heady Topper of hoppy wheats.

 

I'm pumped for LVBW also. I'll be at the release at A-town BW tomorrow after I try Hop Suplex at Wegman's.

Odd Side Ales in Michigan has a beer called "Oh, Me So Hoppy To Wheat You". "A derisious wheat ale with a hoppy finish that lingers long time!"

It's hilarious and delicious.
