Besides the hoppy pilsners, look for Brooklyn Lager (very hoppy), Great Lakes Elliot Ness and even SA Boston Lager is surprisingly hoppy.

Drinking an Edel pils now, super sweet pils, wouldn't recommend it in this thread. For a buttery malty one though it is super smooth, good beer to pair with a plate of rettichsalat or sauerkraut.

Just recently had Bad Brains beer from Upright, great showcase of hops in a schwarzbier. If it weren't overcarbonated it would have been perfect.

Jeff, you are a man of the world! Do you have any influence with Bells? Can’t you get them to package and distribute that beer?

    Please!

But can you really consider it a lager?

I do know a few that work there, but to have influence, you have to know someone named Larry. Or to be more exact, be Larry.

Some have said that Q' falls might be packaged again in the future, when they have more of the brewery expansion up and running. I think it would be wonderful in cans.

Edit - I have a homebrew clone attempt #1 of Q' Falls that is ready for dry hops (Crystal).

Why don't you bring Larry a bottle (or two) of your awesome CAP beer as a 'house warming' present? You will have a friend for life (and more importantly influence)!

    Cheers!

It will only be awesome if it gets an NHC medal in the second round.

Nah! The only beer judge I 'trust' is you. If you proclaim it to be awesome, it is awesome!

    Cheers!

No love for Pilsner Urquell? It may not slap you five with a massive hop wallop, but it does give you real nice fist-bump of crisp, refreshingly bitter hop bite.

No, they taste like a hoppy lager. Taste some of the Jack's Abby and get back to me.

Send me some and I will.

Seriously, love to try it, but not available around here. I'll stick with my New Glarus, Capital and Sprecher for good lagers. To me DA was just another IPA.

What you are missing is the ability to appreciate the many styles of beer that are more balanced and don't have an overwhelming hop presence that obliterates everything else. Appreciation of the more subtle and delicate characteristics of beer tends to improve with age.

I don't know. I'm sure there are subtle flavors one can divine from various cupcake recipes too, but I still think they're best with frosting.

I have love for it. Drinking one now. It's now soooo much better than it used to be, recently speaking, of course.
