So I moved into my house in late June last year. I purchased a couple of plants: Chinook and Centennial and wanted to get them in the ground as quickly as possible just to get them established. The plants I purchased were about 6" tall and they grew up really nicely.

Since I was in a rush and I didnt do my homework, I put the plants like 12" apart which is obviously waaaaaay too close. I need to move one of the plants, but I am not sure on timing. I am in WI and we have had a longer winter than usual and nothing has sprouted yet. Do I move the plant before it sprouts? What is one didnt make it through winter. Any recs are much appreciated.

Moving them sooner is better than moving them later. Either way, disrupting the roots will affect growth. Dig up and move as much of the root system as possible.
