Drank a Mars in July and it was bad, shipped 2 more bottles to the same friends in NJ...beer was turrible...much like Hypeslam

My brother in Michigan got a case yeaterday. Says this years batch is great. I also don't think its "the best ipa" and may not even be in the top 10, but it's still pretty frikin good. Hope I can find a six this year. This stuff sells through quick.

 

Your store allowed you to return alcohol?

 

I offer, unapologetically, that I will be buying it this year. For those in central VA that are also looking forward to it, TW on Robious (RVA) says week of 26th. I believe that particular distro house hits their store on Tuesdays. So do your math on TW Broad, Whole Foods, OUAV, etc.,.

When will hopslam be on shelves in nc? Is the week of the 19th just the week it will be in the hands of distributors...and not retailers' shelves?

 

Unopened of course and I'm a regular there so maybe that's why. Only time that I had ever tried to return anything alcoholic though.

 

why does Puerto Rico need Hopslam? MOAR FOR ME (and by me I mean my customers).

 

So Tryon is famous for being a week behind every other state for most interesting things. Hopslam usually lands on like a Tuesday or Thursday. I havent heard a date from my rep which isnt promising for next week.

 

Man, do you just hate your "friends" in NJ?

 

Was told by a tryon rep yesterday that it will likely be Feb before NC sees it. Tryon gets two shipments from Bells for Hopslam and wants to wait on the second shipment to ensure that the entire state is served at the same time. He told us it would most likely be Monday the 9th, but he's been wrong before...

 

They did the same thing last year. I love pallet aged IPAs.

 

Known them 20+ years, it's a love hate relationship, I love to hate on what they're dranking...old skool college buddies, I send them shit bells beers, they send me epic Carton beers! Sending 2 hearted, Oberon and mini kegs of 2 hearted when they were out a couple years ago, goes a long way!

The last 2 months have included epitome, O'Dubs, and shipwrecked! Shipwrecked was outstanding, rum barrel aged Porter that drank like a stout, epitome is the best black imperial ale, really it's a black ipa that makes Wookie look like a cheap date.

Also getting Kane growlers doesn't suck either and a bottle of 365...those guys are ok, it's a shitshow when we get together and throw down...

 

This is what I heard also. I understand wanting to make sure the entire state is served at the same time, but come on. I mean COME ON! What I wanna know is, is this only for bottles or are they holding onto the kegs too? At least distribute the kegs for Gods' sake. I remember last year, some bars still had Hopslam on in April. One bar in particular had Hopslam and Sexual Chocolate on at the same time and were selling blends of the two, calling them Sexual Slams

 

I just threw up in my mouth...

Sexy choco is good on tap, bottle form at 18 months is still bitter, and just an ok stout, have one bottle that is almost 2 years old, another 2 that are a year old, won't touch them for at least another year.

 

The lack of information on hopslam hitting SC is driving me crazy. I asked around like 2 weeks on Twitter and no ones helping me out. #frustrated

 

It says above that HS is shipping out the week of 1/19 (this week), probably will take a week or so to go from brewery>distributor>retailer. You local shop may be able to tell you what day they receive deliveries from the distributor that handles Bells.

 

For reference, Green's is claiming that they will have Hopslam in stock the first week of February. Quoted ship date from Michigan was the week of January 19.
