Hopslam 2015

Not sure of the hate for Hopslam. It's a great beer. At one point it was the best beer I've ever tasted many years ago. There are a lot great IPAs out there which is why when you drink it now it doesn't have that same excitement that you remember.

Not sure why that's difficult for so many to understand. It's a really good beer that isn't worth the effort it takes many times but Hopslam got too popular so now the reverse internet reaction must take place where it's now terrible and a drain pour. Bleh.

 

Just trade for it. That's what I did and mine arrives today or tomorrow. It's a DIPA and I'm not going to wait til sometime in February for it to show up at my local store while the hops are fading. It was bottled January 2nd.

 

Anyone know when its hitting Charleston?

 

It's hitting Athens, GA on Tuesday so I imagine other southern states will be seeing it around the same time.

 

This week it's being picked up for Florida. Won't hit shelves until mid-Feb most likely

 

Hopslam is a great beer but at this point it's not worth the amount of run around it can take to get it. With that said, if I happen across bottles I'll pick some up or if I find it on tap i'll no doubt get a pour/pours.

 

Agree. I have a few stores within a 5 minutes drive of my office. If I know they have it in I'll swing by and get a 6 pack or maybe 2 but it's not good enough to justify much more of an effort with the price.

If anyone sees it in Florida please post in here. My wife loves it so will want to grab some.

 

I heard some bad news today from a brown rep. He said that Gold Coast was the distro for Bells in south Florida, and that once Gold Coast was purchased they lost the right to distribute bells products due to some conflict of interest. He also said that no deal had been done that he was aware of.

Can anyone validate this?

If this is correct, then we may not be getting any Hopslam (or any other bells products) until this is straightend out.

I know that Brown distributes bells In north Florida. Not sure why they can't score a deal down here.

Anyway, that's what an employee told me. I can't vouch if it is 100% accurate.

 

I was told next Tuesday for Myrtle area of SC by a beer store employee, but who knows.

 

Total Wine in Greenville said tomorrow

 

ouch. and i thought the Harvest ale from September 2014 I found yesterday was bad...

 

Stopped by a local TW in SE VA yesterday, I actually asked about something else, but the employee offered "But we will have Hopslam in next week." if anyone in our area was curious.

New date is today...1/29, I'll find out soon enough

 

Charleston should get it in tomorrow. Trucks were said to get in Tuesday (weather permitting) and local deliveries should be Friday, maybe Thursday depending on how they move.

 

Anyone hear anymore about when it may be hitting shelves in VA?
