I'll pass this year. Not a huge fan of IPAs like this.

Looking forward to this. I skipped Hopslam in 2016 for a reason I can't recall, but I'm looking forward to having it again this year.

Hopslam was one of the first IPAs that I really really enjoyed back in 2010, and I have fond memories of my first glass.

Is it really that limited for your area? In Indy it's everywhere. Most places get tons. The store I work at will probably get 25 cases or so alone.

Well, my shopping habits have evolved slightly since last year, but out of the two grocery stores (with great craft selection) and two craft beer shops I frequented, I only ever saw one case. Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong places, but that's all I found. There are a few other shops I visit now with my new work location, so things might change this year.

def not only your circle. I have been hop slammed many a time. woke up fully clothed in my apt with a buddy, we were out drinking the night before. we each had unknown bruises and grass stains. guessing wrestling match on the way home from the bar, but who knows.

There's a difference between being a beer snob and being a beer enthusiest who doesn't like paying ~$20 for a six pack of beer. That's just ridiculous in my opinion.

They are doing something right though....that shit just about sells out every year regardless of price point. I'll usually buy a few pints every season if I see it since the pricing is a bit more reasonable.

    Cheers!

My favorite part of the Hopslam release is reading comments about how it was better last year.

2016 was my first Hopslam and I was very impressed. Drinking a 2017 now and it seems a bit boozier than I remember. Supposedly they are both 10% alcohol so maybe there's a tad less honey? Or it's very likely my tastebuds have changed. Still an impressive beer but you need to shell out a couple extra dollars for it

This is what pisses me off about hopslam. In SE PA nobody gets hopslam until it goes through shangy's, and they prob won't release it til mon 1/23. So unless they are still canning, the shit is a solid 3 weeks old when we get it. And I find that hopslam Malts over quickly.. maybe I'm an asshole??

Picked up a six-pack last year, very tasty, hopefully it shows up in my area again and I can grab a six-pack as there are limits in my area.

You're not an asshole, I agree. I live 15 mins from Shangys but split a 6 pack 3 ways (from wegmans) with a few friends...opened a can on date of purchase and was amazing. Within a week it tasted like a different beer...hops fell off a cliff and were completely gone. Six pack was $23
