Hopslam 2018

Come to the UP in a week or two. Hopslam kegs were on the shelves last year till July.

 

Amazing. I'll have to grab one when I head up to Kayak. Can't think of a safer way to enjoy the river!

 

Using the mini-keg as ballast?

 

Binny’s STC has Hopslam 6 packs canned on 1/10. That’s just incredible as I don’t recall us getting them distributed quite that quickly before.

 

I was just there this AM. Plenty in stock dated 010918. Unfortunately, they wouldn't take the coupon since they designated this as an "allocated item"

 

Thanks for the information. That's kinda bogus. I saw STC is limit 2 cases pp. About as heavily allocated as it gets.

 

I was not only excited about drinking my first Hopslam of the year, but printing out the coupon and the getting that discount.

 

In a way, this makes me happy as my Binny's didn't have it yet and I just burned my coupon. Went with another Mosaic Sue and some fresh Really Dank Meme to meet me IPA fix and get the 15% coupon in.

 

FWIW - I used the coupon for a 2017 Juliet that was marked at $22 and some change.

 

I went there yesterday evening and there was lots of it. No limit and I picked up 2 packs. Went back today and there was still a huge stack on the floor.

 

Told a buddy of mine that I didn't really care for Hopslam last year so he gave me a can. Drank it a couple of hours ago and I think it's back to its usual self. But boy has my palate changed on IPAs.

 

Just grabbed Hopslam from my local Meijer. Canned 1/10. It was $15.79, which felt cheaper than last year. What is Binny's charging? I think I'll have one here shortly. I feel like I've earned it after shoveling my neighbor's driveway this morning.

Nice. Go F yourself Binny's coupon! Having one now. Pretty tasty. Definitely dialed back the honey this year and seems to be more in line with my previous experiences (prior to 2017 that is). But yeah, my palate has changed a lot on IPAs too. I'll point out that it's currently 12 degrees and snowing here and this DIPA is hitting the spot.

 

Had a few cans this past Saturday. It's still fantastic. I'll try it again if I see it on tap, otherwise I'll wait till next year. (I'm trying to drink down my cellar). Perfectly balanced and the 10% ABV is well hidden. Deserving of the hype IMO.

 

Saw it my Local Meijer FYI

 

The Bell's beer finder is accurate, at least knowing that the beer was delivered (I doubt they know stock status). A few of you have said your Meijer has it. The Bell's beer finder said my Meijer (Algonquin) did not have it but Woodmans right down the road does. I checked Meijer and they did not have it but Woodmans has a huge stack. Woodmans has a limit of two six packs.

 

Any idea how long the mini keg holds carbonation in the fridge? The side of the keg says to drink within 48 hours.

 

That's drink within 48 hours of opening. So once you crack it, you should finish it quickly. It should be fine sealed for a long time.
