Found in the Lake Zurich area today. At least Binny’s, so I’d assume others as well.

Wtf is wrong with this years Hopslam? It tastes closer to a pilsner than a DIPA.

Man, I've heard it all with this beer. This is pretty silly.

Check the date on the bottom of the can.

    You sure you’re not drinking a ‘17?

Tastes nothing how it used to. Tastes cheap and grainy with slight hop. The sweetness is nonexistent too.

Just to put it out there, I loved the 17.

I personally get more of a milk stout taste, but tastes are definitely subjective. To each their own.

I agree 100%. I bought my friend two six packs (binnys 15% coupon had to use it) and myself one sixer. Im glad I stopped at a sixer. Very little body, aroma and taste. Even after it warmed it was weak. Thank goodness for Waldos Ale around the corner to save the day.

So you found some there and it was okay and saved your day? You lost me with your statement.

I'm not sure which struck me as odder -- that my local Binny's has a "Limit 2" sign for this beer or that Archer Liquors is requiring customers to use loyalty points to buy it!

Who ever said it tastes like pilsner is ...

    A. A crack head
    B. Has never had hop slam
    C. Had bad cans

It's the exact same boozy sweet dipa that got me into craft 7 years ago. It's no longer the power house on the market it once was but a fine beer and a better trip down memory lane to see the strides the industry has made in no time

Hopslam tastes the same to me every year which is damn good. It's the original beast and without it we wouldn't have the plethora of different solid options and sub categories we do today. I'm still a fan.

I get more blueberry notes than I would expect. I will do a side by side tasting with a CBS and post the results.

I've had it most years since 2006 and I'll never remember my pallet back then or have any reference to compare. I can usually jog my memory back 3-4 years and I can't remember a discernible difference. I agree it was more hoppy years ago, but it's pretty well balanced now.

I mean, calling it a pilsner is almost a backhanded compliment. I can't think of a more drinkable 10% beer.

Instead, lets just call it a Session DIPA
