Hopslam in Chicago

    This is my first year living in Chicago during this time of the year (I used to be in AA where Hopslam was everywhere).

    When is it hitting the shelves in Chicago (and will it stay there long)?

    I saw some events popping up at Sheffield's and other places, but what about distro?

    All indications from Binny's official line is first week of Feb for them so I suspect that is the week for cans/mini kegs around. Appear to be a couple draft events next week as you mention but most are the first week in Feb as well.

    Edit: Oh and it will not stay long. Welcome to Chicago :wink:

    You should be able to find it on draught fairly easily. Keep tabs on beermenus.com.

    As far as finding it on a store shelf...good luck. Anything BA, rare, or perceived rare will fly off the shelves as people stalk trucks, bribe employees, and take way more than any single person needs.

    With that being said, Chicago gets such an absurd amount of beer from various places, that you'll find it a good spot to be as a beer drinker.

    It looks like Madison is expecting tomorrow. Everything I've heard indicates Chicagoland is expecting first week of feb, but I wonder if Madison getting it tomorrow means we will see our shipments any sooner. Has anyone heard any updates of date of expectancy?

    For info looks like Beer Temple will have it for sale this Thursday as part of their release event @ 5pm.

    I didn't see any at Bloomingdale, but I couldn't find the beer guy to ask. I'm going to make a return trip shortly so I'll check. They're definitely NOT out in the open if they're there at all.
