Gotta stock up for the snow! I have got Nugget Nectar and Bigfoot 2014, but missing the HopSlam. Doesnt Hopslam always have a second allocation that goes out or is this it? I have one place I may try after work...

Whole Foods G'town was supposed to get 'Slam today, but as of 2:30 the truck hasn't arrived yet. if it doesn't come in today, they weren't sure if it would tomorrow because of the snow... so might not be until friday or saturday.

WF clarendon is out of hopslam but after talking to the beer guy I was able to score one of the 6'ers held for employees. THey are gonna have a bell's tap takeover next saturday including hopslam.

Seeing absurd prices downtown ($10/btl at 1 West Dupont and $33 at Bell's (ironic) on M Street). I am glad that I got my one 6er at TW-Alex on Tuesday, but I don't feel the need to spend that kind of money. I don't want to be one of those "overrated guys", but I suspect that the market has caught up to Bells on DIPAs. 3 years ago, I am sure it was unique and the bee's knees. But IPAs and DIPAs have come so far, so fast, I don't see the need to pay $20+ a sixer when there is other stuff at almost half of that price that is that good or better.

Is this the first retail or did I miss something? Are they putting this on the market rather than brewery only?

At least they are giving the working public a chance with the 5:30 release. I'm just glad I drive through the city during the middle of the day sometimes. Anything that isn't a year around release is now something you have to get into a knife fight to get.

Trader Joe's in Baileys Crossroads and Clarendon both got a whole bunch yesterday. Clarendon had no limit and I walked out with a case and a half for my friends @ 19 a sixer.

Finally got a few from @mjord23 . Thanks Matt. I'm glad I didn't pay an absurd price for a 6 pack. Like @thechief16 said.... The market has caught up to this beer. It's good, but there are other year round options that are equally as good and cheaper. Cheers and happy snow day!

They also have Alewerks Bitter Valentine on tap, $10 for a growler fill. I don't think you can get a better deal than that.

Has this hit in the Chevy Chase area yet?

The pricing and availability certainly do vary by location. Last year, my father-in-law was able to buy a case of it in Northwest Ohio, and I know he paid nowhere near $26 per six pack.

I'm in the same boat. I love the stuff, but not enough to overpay for it.

This is the second time it has gotten into distribution, and the first time they have distributed the cans.

Just doing 1 can per person seems...odd. Must have only gotten a case.

Apparently all the stores got just 1 case each.

This. Although it makes me feel like a hipster who is lamenting that something became so cool it is uncool, I'm drinking my first Hopslam of the year and it's good and all but it doesn't have the wow factor it once did. With Sucks and Nugget Nectar readily available, it's also hard for me to get up for competing with other people to buy beer. If I wasn't able to pick up 2 sixes on my way home today, at my leisure, I would have passed. If anything, it made me look forward to the next Sculpin drop.

Sculpin and Big Eye should be back on NoVA shelves this weekend for the first time in a while. Not sure if the same distributor sells BP in DC, or if the same truck would service both distributors, if they aren't the same.
