Hopslam in DC/NOVA

On my lunch break, I just saw a guy come out of the Yes Organic Market on 14th and V with 4 cases of Hopslam. I commented on it, and he said "It's all they had."

 

I guess I'll stop by Vienna Whole Foods after work -- see if they have any.

 

My wife said that the Whole Foods in Alexandria has about 10 cases as of a few minutes ago.

 

Still a few cases left as of a couple hours ago. Same price and limit.

 

TW Springfield got it in, $21.99. Also got a ton of Nugget Nectar in, wasn't expecting that.

 

Did they have any limit on it? TW in Fredericksburg told me they weren't going to limit it so I'm a bit nervous any will be left in the evening after work.

Nice, hopefully the store here follows suit. They sold out of Enjoy By with the quickness.

 

Total Wine in Sterling has it on the floor. It is going fast though. No limit at this time.

 

Wow really? That's pretty wild they would actually put it out instead of behind the counter. Sure it's gone by now, glad my brother already scored us a couple sixers from WF.

Any sign of Nugget Nectar yet at TW Sterling?

 

I got there at 7PM. It was a two six pack limit at that point. They had about five and a half cases left. They had tons of NN.

 

TW Chantilly has it with a one 6 pack limit around $22...

 

There was quite a bit (maybe 10 cases or so on the floor) of it at TW Fairfax last night as of ~8:30pm, 1 sixer per customer @ $21.99 each, bottled 1/15/13. They also had a bunch of super fresh NN, bottled 1/25/13.

 

got mine at whole foods fair lakes yesterday, its gone now tho

 

If anybody is still looking, the Whole Foods in Reston is scheduled to get about 20 cases of it tomorrow. Limit one 6 pack per person.

 

Don't waste your money on this stuff. Sucks > Tasmanian > Hopslam.

 

Completely agree. I have to believe they've changed the recipe. This year's has barely any hop aroma and nothing hides the 10% ABV. So many readily available, MUCH better DIPA options, including locals.

That said if you gotta have it, the Giant on Columbia Pike near Walter Reed Drive (South Arlington) had a stack of 20 cases on the floor for $19.99/sixer with no limit.

 

And now I need to change my username... I picked it several years ago when this beer rocked my world. Disappointment now.

 

Talking about Tasmanian, Rodman's has it on the shelves. It is fantastic!

 

There are several complaints from DC folks in the broader Hopslam thread - I had my firs 2013 one today and hugely disappointed - having had this beer for the past 4/5 years this was by far the worst batch i've tasted - no hops at all - could we have a bad batch?
