    Actually
Actually we are prohibited from having an interest in distributorships as are those retailers who hold class a and class b liquor licenses I believe.

So, I am here to confirm/bring bad news. Beer Capital has the Hopslam in their warehouse, but will NOT distribute it until next week. We asked how come, and the reps don't have a clue. I can only guess that it would be because of the temperature outside and they don't want cases exploding. Still confused on how Madison got around this, but heck, they get around everything somehow....

edit: This is just what we were told, not sure what other stores in the area are told or when they would get it.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.

Yeah. 10% beer ain't gonna be 'splodin' after spending a few hours in a truck.

If I had to speculate, and this is pure speculation, I would guess that there is an order to which new beers need to go to accounts (i.e. certain accounts must be the first in the market to receive a beer). And so I think you will see it show up at certain stores, say, on Thursday or Friday, but everyone else will get it next week.

I could see how that would be the case. I def know that the little shop I go to usually gets their beer a week after Discount/Ray's/Otto's, and that they also only get one truck per week vs. 2-3.

Exactly. I don't really shop at Ray's, but Discount seems to get new beers on the Friday before everyone else. It might be just be coincidence, but I would not be surprised if there was some sort of preferential treatment going on.

They're probably buying more beer than anyone else, so I could see that happening.

Sendik's also gets beers early. Anyone ever seen Hopslam there?

Am I a fool to think that this beer will be pretty much everywhere by the end of next week? I've never had trouble finding a Bell's seasonal before.

It will be everywhere next week. I remember seeing if months after it got released last year. In terms of Sendiks, I've had great luck there recently. Couple weeks ago I found a few bottles of Bourbon County Barleywine and Coffee Stout. I'm sure they'll have Hopslam.

I keep holding out hope that I'll randomly run into a few BCBW and/or BCCS bottles at a random shop around MKE. Has yet to happen. But you never know!

I've lucked out at Sendiks on Capital and Downer Wine and Spirits.

I had great luck at Downer for a few months, but I've been just missing their shipments lately. Sendik's in Whitefish Bay is usually pretty good. Gotta love $8.99 4-packs of Breakfast Stout. I keep meaning to see if they have some Founder's Imperial there.

It's alright- to be honest, the BC beers are a bit much for me. I like CW a little better if only because they are way more drinkable (for me).

Both are world class when it comes to barrel aged goodies but it depends on the situation which id rather have; When its freezing out like it is now I'll enjoy a BC (gunna crack a BCBW tonight) over CW but if im feeling social and plan to do some drinking later in the night i'ill have CW BBS or PM.
edit: I was "hehehe"ing because I was able to score a 4pack of coffee and barleywine thru a very awesome BA'er a few days ago

Just had my dad call his buddy who works at Beer Capital. Apparently no Milwaukee stores will have it until Monday or later. He also said the smaller stores (Sendiks) will be the first to receive the shipments and most other stores should have it by Wednesday or Thursday.

This better be because they don't have it yet! Not because it's sitting in a warehouse getting older.

Love it, Beer Cap at it's finest. Thank heaven I'll be in Chicago this weekend.
