Hopslam? MN

Thats because they sell you two month old hopslam. At least that's what I got from them and a few other guys did as well last year...

My buddy picked it up for me, had I been there I would have asked for a refund.

 

of course it's not, but when you're buying 2 cases, you'd like it to be as fresh as possible.

 

They sell it the first day it's available in the state. At the lowest price around.
Not sure how much better they could run it.

 

I agree, however, that last year's stock was older than what other stores were selling on the very same day.

 

Strange that it could be 2 months old already since they said we could pick up the pre-order of Hopslam on Monday of next week. That's ok don't buy it though, more for me.

 

Just talked to my beer guy and he said next Thursday for Hopslam.

 

In case anybody wants to make the drive they had a stack at Marketplace in St Croix Falls.

 

Hopslam is my favorite DIPA. Even at that I only buy one 6-pack a year. I do prefer it over Abrasive, Sucks, and everything else. And at these prices it is a better value.

 

Bought a single in Hudson- only 2 bucks for some reason. I've had it every year , it's always good. Drinking a sucks now however, it's a close second but wins overall for being six bucks less.

 

If you're paying good money, looking for the freshest beer doesn't seem very unreasonable.

Tonight I had an Abrasive dated 12/13.
Yes, it was very good - but nowhere near as good as the 1/17 I had yesterday.

 

2/6/13 is what I was told for the South Metro Cities.

 

Blue Max said they would have it Wed. Jan. 30th.

 

I know where I will be on January 30th!! The Cellars in Eagan is who told me 2/6/13.

 

It has started arriving in the cities for those trying to get it as fresh as possible.

I blame Hoenstiens in the Twin Cities because they usually wait to release it.

 

Date on the South Lyndale bottles is 1/10/13. :-)

I can't help but laugh at the hysteria over these beers. Some people act like they are gonna die if they don't score a case of this stuff immediately. Another highly over rated BA beer IMHO. Good, but, not anywhere near Abrasive good.
