Maple Grove Princeton's has a few cases left. But it's going fast.

It's a beer that comes out every year, more than enough for everyone to enjoy multiple times and there is a 3 page thread on it in nearly every regional forum. My definition of hysteria.

Marshall liquors seemed to have an abundance.

Hoptimum by SN was probably my favourite beer of last year, delicious. Hopslam is fine but as usual, over-hyped, had one tonight at BDP in St Paul ($7) I think in prior years it had less honey and was hoppier? I prefer Myrcenary by Odell over Hopslam....especially on tap.

If you see a line, go 3 blcoks down to another store, they should have it too

I happen to enjoy hopslam very much, probably has something to do with my love of hops and realistic expectations for a limited release beer.

I picked up a sixxer today and I must say this year I prefer Abrasive to Hopslam. With that being said, you give me either one and I will be a very happy guy.

Hopslam is my favorite beer. Period. I like Abrasive a lot and others as well but Hopslam is by far my favorite beer. And price wise it is not bad for a super elite beer. $15 for a six pack (72 ounces)....compare that to (fill in the blank) top notch Imperial Stout in 22 ounce bottles for $20 or more.....Dark Lord,.....Darkness....whatever....great beers but a buck an ounce.....Hopslam would cost $72 a sixer based on that kind of pricing.

I felt the same way, until last night when I cracked my first bottle of the year. Still a great beer, but I like the taste and price of Sucks a lot more. I'm glad I only paid $3.54 for the six pack with a full Apollo punch card.

They had Hopslam at Cask and Cork (I think that was the name) in Rochester a couple of days ago.

I liked it better than when I had it last year, but that may be my tastes changing more than the beer. I like it way better than Sucks, and both WAY better than Abrasive. JMO and tastes.

My local in Shakopee Southbridge Liquids got 2 cases so I was able to get a sixer...

Bought my annual sixer and was honestly disappointed in the nose. It didn't have the big floral/citrus character that is so much of the Hopslam experience. Still tasted great but my next DIPA purchase will likely be Sucks or Abrasive which in past years I have had both a notch behind Hopslam.

Hopslam is a damn good beer. I alway enjoy 6 each year, not because its better or worse than the year before (pretty sure the fucking recipe is the same), but because it was one of the first "Big" DIPAs that I hunted down and enjoyed when I got into this craft lifestyle. It's not new, not über creative, def not latest and greatest, but it brings back memories of the beer hunt. Drinking Hopslam each year reminds me how far my palate has progressed, not how bells changed anything through the years, but I digress (and enjoy a Hopslam).

I think it is the same recipe every year too but I imagine the results can turn out differently anyhow from year to year based on other factors when you brew? I'm not a brewer so perhaps someone else could add to this. I'm not saying it is bad or off just not as tropical in aroma or taste as other years...maybe a tich sweeter in maltiness....it's been my #1 beer for about the last half dozen years or so so I do look forward to it and buy a case as soon as it comes out.

Sucks is still behind, had some last night and 1/10/2013 Hopslam was far superior.

Also, if people are looking for Hopslam in the TC, Chicago Lake Liquor has quite a few cases left.
