Hopslam - NYC

Next week I believe:

 

Gonna be a good week with nugget nectar and hopslam coming next week. Palate about to get crushed.

 

Was talking to the guys at Decicco's the other day and they said it will be hitting NY stores next Monday everywhere. A good few weeks with Hi-Res, Nugget Nectar, and Hopslam.

 

I think I'm going to stop by Barcade later.

 

Funny to see what a difference a year makes. The Bell's release last year at Barcade was packed. This year, completely empty. The hopslam was alright, though it tasted a lot sweeter than last year. I do have to say I really enjoyed the Greenport Harbor Goth Logger Barcade exclusive. Tasted liked a chocolate peanut butter cookie.

 

To be fair, the weather was pretty terrible yesterday. Bridge and tunnel crowd probably left early (granted idk how many of them would trek out to BK).

 

As craft beer continues to explode and there are so many options and great beers, I think the shine is coming off some of these older, more established beers. Or, it could have been the day after the Super Bowl, bad weather and a Monday night. Although last year on East End of Long Island I saw stacks of cases growing dust.

 

It seems like there is a much smaller supply of Hopslam in NYC than last year. Whole Food Tribeca is already out, and says they only got 10 cases. Have people seen it in many stores this week? (Last year it seemed to be in all sorts of beer stores, grocery stores, bodegas, etc.)

 

Whole Foods Brooklyn got 15 cases, 1 6pk per person.

 

I agree, seems like there isn't as much this year. Glad I picked up a couple 6pks

 

grabbed the last 6-pack on the shelves at WF Midtown East... there may be more in the back but you'd have to ask

 

Thanks for the info guys. Question: has anyone tried this year's batch yet? I'm wondering if it's even worth the hassle to track down if it's so limited this year...

 

There was no limits at Bowery as of last night. I just picked up 2 the last 3 days and it's just sitting there.

 

agree, i grabbed a couple from there as well. went back tonight and they were completely sold out though.

 

They had about 10 cases last night at good beer. 2 6pack limit. Had it on draft, as good as ever, maybe a bit sweeter but I'm fine with that.

 

Anybody know where I might be able to grab a six pack on the upper west side today?
