Last year there was a second shipment of hopslam in NYC.

Had a taste of it yesterday and didn't taste as good as I remember. Too sweet and malty. With all of the fresh IPAs now available in NY, I didnt feel compelled to buy any hopslam.

maybe ive been spoiled by the hoppy stuff from Lawsons, Alchemist, Fiddlehead, OH (all of which I've had for the first time this past year) but Hopslam and Nugget Nectar just aren't the aromatic hop bombs that I remember them being.

@paddyfrankie Bread & Honey (56th and 8th i think) has Hopslam, Nugget Nectar cans, and Stone Delicious IPA. All there beers are a few dollars more due to their location. Hopslam is $21.99 a sixer.

I was just at Bread & Honey for non-beer reasons, and i did see that they still had about two six-packs of Hopslam, a few cans of Nugget Nectar, and a few six-packs of Stone Delicious. Maybe there's more in the back, but there's still (at least) some in the fridge.

Places by me swimming in Hopslam still. Charge a premium usually though (probably $28 - $30/sixer)

Prospect Heights Beer Works and Covenhoven both got Hopslam in yesterday, $22 for 6.

Editing to add Finback, Singlecut, Sixpoint, etc. No way I'm dropping $20+ on Hopslam when I can get outstanding Singlecut bombers for $6 city-wide, 4-packs of Hi-Res for $12 and Finback and OH on draft pretty much everywhere in Brooklyn. Made the mistake of buying a Nugget Nectar 6-pack this year, but that's the last year it'll happen. Neither is bad by any means, but just not worth the price tag given what else is on the market.

I agree with you (outside of the NN comment because I love that beer). Next year I'll seek it out on draft, spend my $6-9 on it, and call it a year.

Completely agree. It's funny, at the Other Half 2nd anniversary release ten days ago I thought that $20 for a four pack is pricey (since most craft releases are typically $12-16) but the beer is great so it's worth it. Yesterday I spent $21 on a six of Hopslam at WF and they sold out that same day. For the effort it takes to get Hopslam in NYC I think you can find far better beers around the City $4$. Not saying it's bad by any means, just that the effort-reward ratio is out of whack.

Then again, baby's first whale has the whole nostalgia thing going for it. Which is nice.

I'm not sure going to Whole Foods, and waiting outside a brewery in Gowanus for 3 hours in February represent equivalent levels of effort.

Had it on draft last night. Definitely more balanced than last year. The honey was much more subdued and the sweetness toned down a lot.

Its amazing, 2 or 3 years ago, people would be going nuts for these beers, but the times they are a changing! Now people run and line-up for one can of Grimm.

Whole Foods on 87 & 3rd Ave got a few cases in tonight. They were still putting them out when I grabbed a six pack so I'm not sure how much they got. They're dated 2/1/16 & going for $19.99. I'll crack it open on Saturday and hope 12 days won't cause too much fade.

If anyone is looking Upstate, Wegmans across the state have Hopslam out. I've heard Rochester, Binghamton, and Syracuse still have.
