Schaumburg Binnys is sold out. Woodmans in Algonquin has about 30 cases. They have a limit of 1 case per person.

That happened to me last year with this beer. It wasn't as good as I had remembered it. There are a lot of great IPAs out there. I did pick up a six of Hopslam today to give it another try though. Even though it isn't as incredible as I remember it is still a good beer.

Grabbed a six pack at smaller shop - Garden Gourmet Market at Chicago and Ashland. Had some others behind counter as well. $18.

Also some Prop and Backyard. I'll refrain from posting the price as, upon reflection, I feel that I must have heard incorrectly. (I didn't buy either, to give a sense directionally of my disbelief).

Take these thoughts with a grain of salt. One man's thoughts.

I appreciate that Hopslam is a unique beer. It is very clean, crisp. The aroma? Definite "hopslam," awesome mango and pineapple scent. That taste though... WAY too sweet. Overpowering, like "is this a barleywine?" sweet. I failed to get much hoppiness. I know this is 10% plus, but am I off here?

    Heretical rant complete.

And the guy said the store won't get anymore in the rest of the year.

Interesting. Does that mean they are not doing any more batches? It's supposed to go into March, right? Or is that only if it theoretically sat on shelves into March?

Previous years batches would be brewed later into the year. It is possible Bell's may have only allocated so much to the General Store, future batches could be destined for distribution.

Without additional information all we can do is speculate.

Agreed that they'll probably make more batches, but the store may not have anymore allocated to them.
